MI Decides to Stay with ‘Rendezvous’

MI Decides to Stay with ‘Rendezvous’

For some time now Jude Abaga popularly known as Mister Incredible is obsessed with the idea of legacy. He has demonstrated that in a lot of his songs, talking about it as if he’d soon be gone from us. In You Rappers Should Fix up Your Lives, he talked about retiring, but because there’s none to fill in the position if he leaves, he decides to stay, even ten years/I’ll be in demands…

The online community couldn’t hold their breath for long when he tweeted a new project on the way. I was one of them.

Unfortunately, Rendezvous, MI Abaga’s new project is not an album release as many people thought, but a playlist of 15 experimental songs. It goes without noting that this is not your regular MI Abaga’s style. But there’s always room for experimentation and growing and that’s what he has done with this project released on the 17th of February, 2018.

Every track has a featured personality, and they are Blaqbonez, AKA, Cassper Nyovest, Nonso Amadi, Terry Apala, Moelogo, Strafitti, Yung L, Ghost, Wande Coal, etc — established and new names. With these artists we see the side of MI we perhaps might not have experienced, his views on silent moneymaking, On Coded, I made a million last year and nobody knows (ft AKA), partying, womanising, hustling and trademarks, Slow (ft Straffiti & Blaqbonez), Jiggy (ft Terry Apala) and Popping (ft Ghost).

The project is met with mixed reactions online, but the enjoyment of the project is in the buying. And again, don’t drive while drunk (that’s MI’s advice).
