Santi has released his debut studio album ‘Mandy and the Jungle’. The sixteen track project was put out to the world on May 17th (Friday).
The artiste, who identifies with the Nigerian Alté movement, has been an industry recluse, preferring to show his artistry through his visuals and songs inspired by diverse fragmentations of pop culture.
While speaking to magazine The NATIVE earlier this year for a cover story, Santi noted that “Mandy is a story in itself, and the songs on the album are a soundtrack to the universe.”
That may well be true, as the album whose features range from Goldlink to Tay Iwar boasts a pallette of sounds: Neo soul, Afro dancehall, R n B, and many more.
To support the release, Santi rolled out merchandise for the project at a private listening party held at the Nike Art gallery, Lagos. He has also hinted – in typical Santi fashion – at an upcoming comic book to support the universe of Mandy And The Jungle.
